Giving Back To 135 Non-Profits: Friends of Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission
To celebrate Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»â€™s 135th anniversary, we launched the 135 Thanks Campaign this fall to celebrate Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»â€™s history and our long-standing commitment to our communities.
In the weeks ahead, we will spotlight some of the 135 team members selected to participate in the campaign. Each employee shares why they chose their nonprofit to receive a $500 donation from The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Family Foundation.
Employee: William Demshar
Organization: Friends of Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission
Why: “My wife and I adopted our latest dog, Brutus, from Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC), and we truly believe in their mission for homeless and lost dogs in the Milwaukee area. MADACC plays a vital role in our community by safeguarding both people and animals in Milwaukee County, offering both in-house and foster-based adoption programs with a focus on placing unclaimed stray animals into loving homes.
Lost dogs and strays brought to MADACC are well cared for, and MADACC ensures unclaimed dogs and cats are available for adoption seven days a week. MADACC provides free spay and neuter surgeries for pets in specific ZIP Codes, promoting responsible pet ownership. By addressing adoptions, rehoming stray animals and spaying/neutering, MADACC contributes significantly to our community’s well-being. We are strong advocates for pet adoption and regularly donate to this fine organization”
